Many questions are frequently asked of me, so I've deciced to add this page to answer them...................
Q- What is my schedule?
A- On Tuesday and Friday mornings I'm always in the building from 8am-noon cleaning the halls, or mowing the yard, completing workorders etc. On Mondays, Wednesdays & Thursdays I use these days to complete extra projects and catch up on workorders.
Q- Workorder Requests should be handles how?
A- By the Bulletin Board on the first floor there are workorder request forms that should be filled out and then placed in the Workorder Box which is to the left of the Library door on the first floor.
Q- Who changes the furnace filters and when?
A- I change the filters every two months. You do not need to be at home for this service. If you will be changing your own just leave me a signed note for my records. Even if you want to change your own filter I could leave one for you, I just need to know. If you wish to purchase your own special filters, I can arrange to use them instead.

Chase Commons is very pet friendly. All we ask is that you clean up after your pet when they use the yard. This keeps it clean for everybody. All pets should be on a leash when outside of your unit.

The building's basement is off limits and there is no available storage down there. The basement belongs to the developer, WRDC. Not only do they own the basement units (which are undeveloped) but also all of the rental units that are left in the building.

Some units have the availability for Washer/Dryers. Metal braided hoses should be used to help prevent a burst hose. Especially in the cases where a stacked washer and dryer prohibits you from reaching the water shut offs. The water shut off should be turned off after each use. This too will prevent a burst hose. Turning the water off releaves the pressure on the hoses and prolongs the life of the hose. Black rubber hoses should be changed about every 5 years. Metal braided hoses should be changed about every 10 years. Lets not forget to clean the dryer vents.

Any spaces marked with a V are for Visitors. If a Visitor parks in an "assigned space" (a space that belongs to a Renter or Owner) that vehicle could be towed. If Owners of a parking space come home to find a car in their space all they have to do is call the Caretaker and he will have the vehicle towed.

This system allowes you to buzz in guests and delivery persons. Each unit has a quick reference number ( such as the Caretaker's which is #70 which calls his cell phone). The quick reference number should be given to people who come often. This allows them to call up to your unit from the system with out looking up your name in the system each time they come by. To find out what your Quick Reference Number is ask the Caretaker. The system can be programed to call your home or cell phone, which ever is best for you.
If you are buzzing in a guest you should remind them that they should be parked in a Visitor space or they could be towed. Also letting guests know that all they have to do is pull on the handle of the double set of doors, up the stairs, to the left.
If you are ever locked out of the building you can use the Entry System to call the Caretaker ( #70) to be buzzed in. This will not get you in your unit if it is locked but will get you out of the cold until he can come over.
The Caretaker will not buzz in guests or delivery persons. If you need special services from the Caretaker you will need to arrange for them in advance.

Chase Commons ownes a gas grill. It is located on the deck next to the shed in the back yard. Please try to keep the area clean for others, and they should do the same for you. If the propane tank should run out, please let the Caretaker know.

Smoke Detectors/Sprinklers |
 | |
|
Our building is equiped with both Smoke Detectors and Sprinklers. Our Smoke Detectors are hard wired. This means that they are connected to your electricity. They do however have a battery backup for times when the power goes out. When the battery is getting low on power the detector will start to beep. Slowly at first, then quicker as the battery dies. If you hear one of the smoke detectors begin to beep call the Caretaker and he will replace the battery. Some of the larger Condos have more than one detector.
We also have Sprinklers in the building. Sprinklers are located in every unit. They are placed in some areas such as closets, furnace/hot water heater spaces. We also have them in the halls, laundry room, exercise room and basement. If a fire was to start, only the closest sprinkler will be set off. Since the very first sprinklers were put into use nobody has ever died in a building with working sprinklers.

To help keep our building safer please ensure that the entry doors close tightly behind you. And never let someone into the building unless you were told by a tenant that it would be alright. You never know if a Tenant wants to see some person or not.
We do have camers that record all the entrances on the first floor. If you are aware of a crime or something illegal call the Police and tell the Caretaker and he will check the Camera's Harddrive to see if there is any evidence for the Police.
